There’s word ex-Twin Jason Kubel is headed back to the American League Central Division.
According to MLB.com, he’s been traded from Arizona to Cleveland as the Indians pick up what could be a valuable bat to help in their playoff push.
Kubel, 31, is in the final year of a two-year, $16 million contract with the Diamondbacks. The Indians will receive cash from the D-backs to offset his remaining salary. In return, Arizona gets a player to be named later.
After a solid 2012 when Kubel hit 30 homers, but he’s struggled this year with leg injuries. Right now he’s hitting .220 with five home runs in 89 games.
