The NFL says the hit Joe Looney put on Vikings tackle Kevin Williams Sunday was legal — and not a low blow. As a result, Looney will not be fined, according to NFL.com.
Williams suffered a hyper-extended knee and might miss the season opener against Detroit.
Vikings player representative Jared Allen was livid about that decision today.
He told reporters that the league’s ruling was absurd, saying Looney intentionally targeted Williams’ knee.
Allen says to do that is “just dirty” and “there’s no room for that.”
KFAN-FM 100.3’s A.J. Mansour transcribed Allen’s comments in their entirety. You can read them right here.
