A short-lived run with his second NBA team has come to an end for former Gopher recruit and Hopkins standout Royce White.
White, along with three others, was released by the Philadelphia 76ers today. The parting of ways comes just three months after Houston traded White to Philly.
White’s feelings?

The release comes just three days after White had an eventful night for the 76ers against Cleveland. Put White’s seven points and six rebounds under the “plus” column Monday night, but put five turnovers, a technical foul, and fouling out under the category marked “minus.”
He appeared in five preseason games for Philadelphia, including last night’s game against the Wolves, putting up five points and six rebounds in 23 minutes.
White has now gone through two NBA teams, and that remains two more teams than he has NBA regular season appearances, not making it to opening night with the 76ers, while going through a drama-filled, off-court mess with Houston in 2012, his first season in the league.
Rodney Williams is now the only player with Minnesota ties left in Philadelphia, as Trevor Mbakwe signed a contract to play in Europe after spending time with the 76ers this summer, and White’s departure today.
What’s next for Royce? Who knows.
