The Twins haven’t sold a playoff ticket since 2010, but that could change in less than a month as the team announced Thursday that potential tickets to see the Twins in the playoffs will go on sale to the general public September 30th via the Twins’ official website.
The first potential playoff game would be a home game in the Wild Card showdown, but as it stands now Minnesota is more likely to play that one-game playoff on the road. The winner of the one-game Wild Card playoff would start on the road against a division winner in a best-of-five divisional series.
Full season-ticket holders have until Sunday to reserve their same seats for the playoffs.
But that’s only if they make it; with 17 games to go Minnesota is in the thick of things, just a game and a half behind Houston for the final wild card spot.
On Thursday the Twins begin a four-game series at Target Field against the Angels, who are just two games behind Minnesota and also fighting for a playoff life.
For the Angels, they play their next seven games against the Twins and Astros, so this will be a huge week for them. As TwinsBaseball.com notes, a bad week for the Angels likely spells the end of their playoff hopes.
