Just one game into Lindsay Whalen’s coaching career and the Golden Gophers women’s basketball team is already nationally ranked.
Minnesota climbed into the Associated Press Top 25 poll at No. 25 in Monday’s updated rankings, marking the first time since January 2015 that the Gophers have been in the top 25.

Whalen’s Gophers are 1-0 on the season after defeating New Hampshire in front of the largest crowd in Gophers women’s basketball history last Friday night.
Their first road test of the season is Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Xavier.
