Twins prospect Kyle Gibson in the Minnesota rotation? It may happen sooner than later.
Gibson tossed a four-hit shutout at Toledo last night — his first complete game in three years, according to the Pioneer Press.
Gibson, 2-4 for the Rochester Red Wings, also lowered his ERA to 3.32 — and may challenge Pedro Hernandez for the fifth-starter slot.
Hernandez has hammered last night in Boston, giving up six runs over two innings.
Gibson, who had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in September of 2011, tells Fox Sports North that he’s ready to move forward: “I feel strong like I did back in 2011 and 2010 before the injury. Hopefully I have minimal problems and that’ll be completely behind me.”
