In an on-camera interview with KARE 11 Friday, Vikings punter Chris Kluwe explained his motivation behind a heated letter sent to a Maryland state delegate over the same-sex marriage debate.
Kluwe’s comments come after state delegate Emmet C. Burns Jr. criticized Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo for publicly supporting same-sex marriage. In a letter to Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, Burns says Ayanbadejo’s actions are “inconceivable” and that “football supporters are appalled.” Burns asks that Bisciotti order Ayanbadejo to “cease and desist such injurious actions.”
The punter’s scathing letter first appeared in Deadspin. WARNING: Article includes profanity.
Kluwe also appeared on The Ed Show on MSNBC.
