The Vikings’ sideline will have a lot of familiar faces walking around in street clothes during Thursday night’s game against the Washington Redskins.
Five key players were ruled out in the final injury report issued by the Vikings on Wednesday.
Defensive backs Chris Cook (hip) and Jamarca Sanford (groin), right tackle Phil Loadholt (concussion), defensive tackle Fred Evans (knee) and tight end Kyle Rudolph (foot) will all miss the game. Loadholt and Rudolph were ruled out earlier this week, but Minnesota was holding out hope on Cook, Sanford and Evans until today.
Prior to this week’s game the Vikings had started the same five offensive linemen (Matt Kalil, Johnson, John Sullivan, Brandon Fusco, Loadholt) in 24 consecutive regular season games, according to the Pioneer Press.
But that’s not all. Defensive tackle Letroy Guion (knee/chest) and left guard Charlie Johnson (elbow) are listed as doubtful.
Include safety Harrison Smith, who is on injured reserve, and the Vikings could be down seven starters.
Washington, meanwhile, comes into the game almost completely healthy. No key players will miss the game.
