Corey Brewer is excited for his second run with the Timberwolves.
“I never thought I’d be coming back,” Brewer told FOX Sports North during a conference call on Sunday, “but I’m happy for the opportunity to. I didn’t want to leave, so it’s really good to come back.”
The 6-foot-9 swingman has grown up since leaving the Timberwolves in a trade midway through the 2011 season.
“He’s developed a lot since he left here,” president of basketball operations Flip Saunders said. “It’s always different when you come in with the expectations of a top-10 pick and you’re counted on to carry a team.”
Brewer agrees.
“I’m a lot better than three years ago when I left,” Brewer explained to the Pioneer Press. “I’ve been in the league going on seven years now. I know what I can do and what I can’t do. I’ve had the opportunity to play and get better.”
Brewer was drafted seventh overall by the Wolves in 2007.
