Baseball season is back and we’re pretty confident in saying there will be quite a few proposals during Twins games at Target Field this summer.
Did you know that it costs $209 to pop the question at Target Field?
It’s true. Swimmingly did a study on how much it costs to propose at every Major League Baseball ballpark. The research also provided details on what’s included in the deal.
For $209 at Target Field, the lucky guy or gal gets their proposal shown live on the video board. Call (612) 659-3502 if you want to plan a proposal at a Twins game. Seriously, the number is real, but only one proposal is allowed per game.
The price tag to propose at Target Field falls in the middle of the pack. At $38.50, Pittsburgh’s ballpark is the cheapest place to propose. The most expensive is Dodger Stadium, where it runs a person $2,500 to get their proposal shown on the video board.
The Miami Marlins charge $500, but the proposal includes team mascot Billy the Marlin delivering a dozen roses along with the request being shown on the video board. But as Deadspin notes, there probably won’t be a lot of fans at a Marlins game to see the big moment.
Folks who propose at a Phillies game are rewarded with four tickets, a champagne toast, and commemorative DVD.
The Blue Jays, Angels, Royals, Orioles and Mets don’t allow proposals, and St. Louis only allowed proposals at Busch Stadium on non-game days.
Last summer, the Twins Class 2A affiliate in New Britain, Connecticut staged a marriage proposal gone bad. Here’s the video.
