Hockey fans at the Minnesota State Fair got a first look at the Minnesota Wild’s new white road jersey, according to the Star Tribune.
Wild forwards Stephane Veilleux and Nino Niederreiter were on hand before a large crowd to show off the new style, which will be worn on the ice for the first time during the Wild’s Sept. 19 exhibition game at Winnipeg. Here’s hoping the two players removed the snowy jerseys before heading out to sample any of the greasy, sloppy, tasty State Fair treats.
The Wild’s website promotes the new look like this: “The new road jersey follows the more classic design style of the red home jersey unveiled in 2003 and the green alternate jersey unveiled in 2009. The jersey keeps the primary Wild logo at the center of the sweater and features Iron Range Red numbers and collar, including Minnesota Wild text hidden on the inside of the collar.”
Sports fans attending the State Fair on Labor Day will have a chance to see another professional athlete. Janel McCarville of the Minnesota Lynx will be the guest emcee for a few rounds of Minnesota trivia at the MnSure booth that is promoting the new state health exchange. She will make an appearance between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. inside the Health Fair 11 booth.
