The Timberwolves blew an 18 point halftime lead in Houston and lost to the Rockets, 108-100 Friday night. Minnesota was outscored 35-23 in the third quarter and 34-20 in the fourth.
Derrick Williams J.J. Barea led Minnesota with 19 points each. Ricky Rubio added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, but it wasn’t nearly enough to compete with Houston’s James Harden.
Harden, who has torched the Wolves multiple times this season, finished with 37 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Jeremy Lin got hot and scored 24 points.
The Timberwolves return home for a game against the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday.
