St. Cloud State Huskies 7
Minnesota Gopher men 4
The Huskies swept the Minnesota Gophers in men’s hockey this weekend, winning 7-4 Sunday afternoon at Mariucci Arena after a 3-2 victory on Friday night.
1. Huskies have the power
St. Cloud State overpowered the Gophers – literally – by scoring goals on four power plays, Fox Sports North reports. Three of those goals came in the second period. The fourth came in the third frame.

2. Major penalty against Gophers’ Seeler
Two of those power play goals came when Gopher defenseman Nick Seeler was in the box on a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct call, for a hit to the head.

3. Trouble against Minnesota teams
The Gopher men have had trouble beating just about any in-state rivals lately – not just St. Cloud.
This is the 1st time @SCSUHUSKIES_MH has swept both games at Mariucci Arena since teams began playing in 1990

The Gophers are 1-10 in their last 11 games vs. in-state teams.
