A border battle is brewing at Mariucci Arena this weekend. The Gophers and Badgers renew their hockey rivalry with a two-game set Friday and Saturday night.
Minnesota, No. 3 in the nation, are 6-2-1 through the first nine games of the season. Wisconsin, 1-4-1 so far, aren’t anywhere closed to being ranked.
Nevertheless, the Daily Gopher blog says Minnesota fans shouldn’t count on four easy points this weekend.
Game 1 starts at 7:07 p.m. on Fox Sports North. Game 2 starts at 8:07 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
When these two teams lock up next in mid-February, one of the games will be outdoors at Soldier Field as part of a college hockey double-header with Notre Dame and Miami of Ohio.
