Rachel Banham’s college basketball career came to an end a couple of weeks ago and Kobe Bryant’s career is going to end in one week.
On Wednesday night the two met in person for the first time β and for Banham, it was a long time coming.

Banham has made it clear that Kobe is her favorite player. Kobe has made it clear that he appreciates great basketball players.
Kobe tweeted how impressed he was after Banham tied the Division I women’s single-game scoring record with 60 points against Northwestern, and he complimented Banham again after she hit a game-winning 3-pointer against Iowa.
Congrats on the 60 @rachelbanham15 From what I've seen I don't think it will be the last time you hit that mark https://t.co/JAUgAiadW3

Clutch @rachelbanham15 not many players can side fade, let alone for a game winner #mambablood

The two are, in a way, synonymous in basketball. Banham ended her collegiate career as one of the greatest scorers β sixth all time with 3,093 points. Kobe will finish his career as the NBA’s third all-time scorer with more than 33,500 points and counting.
As Kobe’s career ends, Banham’s will get a fresh start as she’s projected to be a first-round pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft, according to FOX Sports.
