The Oakland Athletics defeated the Minnesota Twins 9-1 on Saturday.
Twins starter Pedro Hernandez lasted just two innings in the game today. He gave up six earned runs and eight hits on the night. Five of those runs for the A’s came in the second inning.
Jarrod Parker picked up the win for the A’s, he gave up one run and four hits in six innings. According to the Oakland A’s website, its the fifth win for Parker since August first.
Alberto Callespo had paced the A’s, he was 4-5 with a home run, and three RBI.
Minnesota’s lone run came on a solo home run for Josmil Pinto, his third homer of the season.
The Star Tribune reports that Oakland has won 12 of their last 15 games, and 16 of their last 21. Their magic number to clinch the AL West is 1.
The game was delayed for two hours at the start because of rain in Oakland.
