The Vikings have shifted focus to the future of the organization after Sunday’s 30-20 loss to Detroit ended their season.
On Monday, Minnesota signed 10 players, all from the team’s practice squad, to futures contracts. The 10 players are:
- Receiver Trishton Jackson
- Receiver N’Keal Harry
- Receiver Thayer Thomas
- Running back DeWayne McBride
- Cornerback Joejuan Williams
- Cornerback Jaylin Williams
- Linebacker Abraham Beauplan
- Tackle Coy Cronk
- Guard Henry Byrd
- Guard Tyrese Robinson
Receivers Jackson and Harry both appeared in games for the Vikings this season. Jackson caught the first pass of his career in the Vikings’ 22-17 win over San Francisco. Harry, a former first-round pick by the Patriots, did not catch a pass but got on the field for 23 offensive snaps and 49 special teams snaps over nine games. Thomas was on the team’s practice squad all season long.
McBride was Minnesota’s seventh-round pick in the 2023 draft after rushing for 3,523 yards in college. He did not appear in a game this season.
Joejuan Williams was on the team during training camp but was signed to the practice squad ahead of the season. Williams was signed off the team’s practice squad by the Bears, appearing in two games for Chicago before being cut on Halloween. Minnesota re-signed Williams to their practice squad a day later.
Jaylin Williams appeared in three games for the Vikings at the end of the season, making one tackle in Sunday’s loss.
Beauplan was an undrafted free agent signing by the Vikings in April. The Vikings waived Beauplan with an injury designation at the end of training camp in August. After not landing with another team throughout the season, the rookie linebacker signed with the Vikings practice squad Jan. 2.
Cronk joined Minnesota’s practice squad Nov. 4 after being cut from Jacksonville’s practice squad the day prior. Cronk has spent time with Green Bay as well as the Jaguars since entering the league in 2021.
Both Byrd and Robinson finished the season on the Vikings’ practice squad while not appearing in a game for Minnesota in 2023.
