The Floyd of Rosedale trophy remains in Iowa’s possession as the Hawkeyes stormed TCF Bank Stadium and beat the Gophers 48-31 in a wildly entertaining game Saturday afternoon.
Nate Stanley outperformed Zack Annexstad in a quarterback battle that saw a combined seven touchdowns and more than 500 yards.

- Annexstad: 17-of-31, 218 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT
Tyler Johnson led Minnesota with six catches for 107 yards and a touchdown while true freshman Rashad Bateman caught seven passes for 65 yards and two scores.
Two weeks ago the Gophers couldn’t stop Maryland’s running game. This week they stepped up the rush defense, allowing just 2.8 yards per carry (108 yards on 29 carries).
The Gophers are now 2-9 in Big Ten games under head coach P.J. Fleck, and win number will undoubtedly wait at least one more week as the Gophers have to play on the road against third-ranked Ohio State next Saturday.
