Harrison Smith isn’t one to talk a big game, but his presence on the field does more than that and the Vikings will be excited to have him back as a starting safety against the Bears on Sunday.
After missing last week’s loss to Arizona with hamstring and knee injuries – and being held out of practice Tuesday – Smith was back on the practice field Wednesday. It’s a sign that he could return to play this week.

Harrison Smith said he moved around pretty well today but has to see how the week goes. Will rely on others to be careful for him. #Vikings

Smith’s available is critical for a Vikings defense that had to assemble a pair of safeties last week by signing a player from the practice squad – Anthony Harris – a moving Terence Newman from cornerback to safety.
Minnesota is also expected to have Andrew Sendejo back from a knee injury this week. If both he and Smith play the Vikings will again be working with their top two safeties.
