Josh Harding’s dedication to his craft through adversity could earn him the NHL’s Bill Masterton Trophy.
The Minnesota chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association nominated him for the award, which is given a player who demonstrates perseverence, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
Harding, who tells the Star Tribune that he’s “honored beyond belief,” has continued his NHL career despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last fall.
The award has been around since 1968. The only player from the Wild or North Stars to win it was Al MacAdam in 1980.
