Former Minnesota Golden Gophers star defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman will be part of a skills challenge on ESPN2 tonight at 8 p.m.
It’s the 2014 Quicken Loans All-Star Football Challenge featuring Hageman and some of college football’s best players. Hageman will participate in the Lineman Strength Challenge. His competition includes Texas A&M offensive lineman Jake Matthews and Notre Dame defensive tackle Louis Nix III. Hageman and Nix are widely considered two of the best defensive tackles in the upcoming NFL Draft.
CBS Sports’ NFL Draft Scout ranks Hageman fourth among defensive tackles and Nix first.
GopherSports.com says Hageman is aiming to become the first Gopher football player since Laurence Maroney in 2006 to hear his name called in the first-round of the Draft. ESPN’s Todd McShay tweeted about the All-Star event and said Hageman looks like a first-round pick.

How high he goes in the draft is up for debate, but Vikings.com’s Mike Wobschall says wherever Hageman goes he’ll “be an impact player in the NFL if he goes to the right situation and, of course, stays healthy and passionate about the game.”
The folks over at SB Nation released a creative mock draft that had the Dallas Cowboys taking Hageman with the 29th overall pick.
