Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway returned to practice on Wednesday as the team prepares for its game on Sunday at Buffalo.
According to the Pioneer Press, Greenway worked with the first team on Wednesday, but he didn’t comment on his status for the Buffalo game after practice.
Greenway has missed the last three games because of broken ribs. Prior to that he had started 90 consecutive games for the Vikings.
While Greenway returned to practice, Gerald Hodges, who had been filling in for him, was on the sideline and did not participate in the portion of practice open to the media, according to ESPN’s Ben Goessling.

Hodges is dealing with a hamstring injury after Minnesota’s 17-3 loss to Detroit. Goessling says that could give Greenway an open path back into his starting weak linebacker spot.
Possible changes along the offensive line

The same five offensive linemen who surrendered eight sacks in the loss to Detroit, worked with the first team.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean all of them will start on Sunday. Earlier in the week, head coach Mike Zimmer said he would be open to looking at personnel changes along the offensive line, and he didn’t back off of that Wednesday.
When asked if he would start the same offensive line at Buffalo, Zimmer said only, “Possibly.”
According to Vikings Journal, one of the Vikings’ limited options might be to promote undrafted rookie Mike Harris to left tackle and put Matt Kalil on the bench.
“It could easily be argued that Harris has progressed since his surprise promotion as an undrafted rookie free agent, and it’s easily conceivable that he’s improved by enough to surpass Matt Kalil’s surprising regression. The Vikings certainly trust him more than they do (David) Yankey, as they’ve made Harris active instead of Yankey in the last three games.”
