Chad Greenway is going to take some time before deciding his future. Will he return to play a 12th season with the Vikings or announce his retirement?
He didn’t say following Sunday’s win over the Bears, but his postgame locker room speech might have hinted at the latter when almost cried after receiving the game ball from head coach Mike Zimmer.

“This business is about relationships, about teammates, about people, right? When I was drafted here 11 years ago, the Wilfs – at that time Brad Childress – it was about relationships. People taught me that,” Greenway said. “To be able to fight with your boys on D – we fight for each other all the time. On offense we fight for each other all the time. That’s what this s—- about. Every decision I’ve made, everyday going to practice and working … it’s been for everybody in here. From day one ’til now.
“I just challenge all of you guys. Some of you guys are rookies, some of you guys are about to walk out of this league. Keep doing it everyday, man. You’ll be great. I appreciate you guys.”
Time will tell if Greenway is back in purple and gold next season.
“I just need some time to get away with my wife (Jenni) and I can make a decision,’’ Greenway said, according to the Pioneer Press. “There is no coming back in this league. It’s final. I want it to be on my terms.’’
