Lost in all of the headlines surrounding Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson are some injuries to big name players as the team gets ready to play the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said linebacker Chad Greenway has a broken hand and right tackle Phil Loadholt missed practice Wednesday with an ankle injury.
“We aren’t exactly sure when it happened,” Zimmer told reporters about Greenway’s injury. “I think early in the [Patriots] ballgame.”
While Zimmer told reporters he was optimistic that Greenway would play on Sunday in New Orleans, the linebacker did not practice on Wednesday and had his left hand in a splint.

According to the Star Tribune, Greenway appeared to be in discomfort early in the game Sunday against the Patriots, and had a chat with the trainers after the Vikings stopped New England on a third down play in the first quarter.
“It just started to really bother me swelling up and something happened,” Greenway told the Star Tribune on Wednesday.
Playing with hand and wrist injuries isn’t exactly new for Greenway. He dealt with a fractured right wrist last season and had an MRI on the same wrist during the preseason.
Sharrif Floyd also did not practice Wedneday, but Zimmer added that he and cornerback Xavier Rhodes are fine after playing against the Patriots.
