Curtis Granderson homered three times to lead the Yankees over the Twins, 7-6, at Yankee Stadium Thursday night. The Twins split the four game series against New York. Ryan Doumit led the Twins with a home run and four RBI.
Minnesota scored four runs in the first inning for the second consecutive game. Ryan Doumit got the scoring started with a two-run single, which was followed up later in the inning by Danny Valencia’s two-run double.
But the Yankees did exactly what they did during game three of the series — score three runs of their own in the bottom half of the first.
Ryan Doumit’s first homer of the season cut the Yankee lead to one, 7-6, but the Twins couldn’t get any closer as Mariano Rivera sent the Twins down in order for the save.
