The Gophers women’s hockey team completed a spectacular shutout win Sunday, dominating St. Lawrence 10-0 at home.
The No. 2-ranked women’s team was lead by a pair of hat tricks from Rachael Bona and freshman Kelly Pannek. The last time the women’s hockey team had multiple hat tricks was in 2009.
GopherSports.com reports Pannek led the team with five points followed by junior Maryanne Menefee and sophomore Dani Cameranesi, who each had four points.
Coach Brad Frost says it’s a great start to 2015.
It was junior goalie Amanda Leveille’s fifth shutout of the season with 15 saves. The Gophers had 40 shots on goal.
The non-conference series ends with a 7 p.m. game Tuesday at Ridder Arena.
Sunday’s win brings the Gophers to a 17-1-2 overall record.
