When playing at home in Minneapolis, the Gophers might be one of the toughest teams to beat in the country. When away from home, they’ve struggled. Fortunately, Saturday’s game was at Williams Arena and the No. 23 Gophers routed No. 7 Michigan, 75-57.
Liam Robbins led the upset victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Marcus Carr provided 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.
It’s the first loss of the season for Michigan (11-1, 6-1), while the Gophers improved to 11-4 overall and 4-4 in the Big Ten.
The Gophers are now 11-0 at home and 0-4 on the road, though their four road losses are all against teams that were ranked (Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan).
