The Minnesota Gophers beat Western Carolina last night 84-64 as they opened a six-game home stand at Williams Arena.
The Gophers pulled away in the second half, they held just a one point 39-38 lead at the break. But Minnesota got things going in the second half and slowly continued to build their lead.
A dunk from Joey King helped spark the Gophers offense. King finished with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.

DeAndre Mathieu had his best game of the season to this point. He finished with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting and dished out six assists. Carlos Morris added 16 and Andre Hollins hit a couple of three-pointers and finished with 15 points.
Five Gophers were in double figures.
Minnesota shot 57 percent for the game and forced the Catamounts into 24 turnovers, including 11 Gopher steals.
The Gophers (6-2) host North Dakota on Monday night.
