The University of Minnesota men’s hockey team is on top of the college hockey polls again this week.
The Gophers swept their Big Ten home series against Wisconsin with a 4-1 win Friday and a 4-3 victory Saturday.
In the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll the men received 21 of 34 first-place votes. St. Cloud State got 12 votes and is ranked No. 2 in the country. Minnesota received 41 of 50 first-place votes in the USCHO.com poll. SCSU is in second place in that poll, too.
SCSU had little trouble with Colorado College last weekend.
Minnesota plays at Michigan State this weekend before taking a Christmas break that will keep them away from games until the Mariucci Classic, which begins Jan. 3.
