The No. 4 Gophers softball team won the Big Ten Conference regular season on Saturday with a 14-1 victory in five innings over Penn State. It’s the first championship title since 1991 and fourth in program history.

Minnesota is also the first school to win 50 games at the Division 1 level, moving to 50-3 and 21-1 in conference play. The 50 wins are a school record for a single-season.
Junior Dani Wanger hit two home runs in the win and freshman pitchers Amber Fiser and Carlie Brandt threw a combined four-hitter.
The Gophers will close out their regular season on Sunday against the Penn State.
