Fans planning to attend the Golden Gopher football scrimmage on Saturday need to go to Sea Foam Stadium on the campus of Concordia University, St. Paul.
The Gophers announced the scrimmage, which is free and open to the public, is taking place at Concordia because the Vikings play at TCF Bank Stadium for a preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night.

Parking is limited around Sea Foam Stadium so fans are encouraged to arrive early. Bring water, too, because concessions will not be open and the National Weather Service is forecasting a high of around 90 degrees on Saturday.
Limited tackling
There’s no telling how much of the scrimmage will include tackling, but it’s a part of the game the Gophers are limiting during training camp.
According to the Star Tribune, Minnesota plans to allow full-contact practices two or three times before the Sept. 3 season opener against second-ranked TCU.
“You want your best players to be out there healthy,” defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys said. “You can’t beat the hell out of them in practice.”
Gophers get ninth in-state recruit
Drew Hmielewski committed to the U of M on Tuesday, becoming the ninth Minnesota kid in the Gophers’ 2016 recruiting class. He’s a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver from Marshall High School in southwest Minnesota.
“I kind of knew in my heart that I’ve wanted to be a Gopher,” he said Tuesday, according to the Marshall Independent. “I watched a Gopher practice this past weekend. I got to talk to coach (Jerry) Kill and he basically told me that I was going to be a Gopher.”
