The Minnesota Gophers women’s basketball team rallied from behind in the second half to beat Nebraska 72-69 in the Big Ten opener.
Minnesota trailed by as many as 17 points with less than 11 minutes to play, but stormed back to beat the No. 12 ranked Cornhuskers. It was the Gophers eighth straight victory.
Minnesota trailed most of the way, but took their first lead in the final minute.
Mullaney gave the #Gophers their first lead of the game with 33 seconds remaining. Trailed by as many as 17 at 10:14 in the second.

Amanda Zahui had a double-double to lead the Gophers. She scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Shayne Mullaney had 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting and knocked down three from behind the arc. She also dished out six assists.
Kayla Hirt chipped in 11 off the bench, while freshman Carlie Wagner added 10.
The Gophers were dominated on the boards 59-46, and they allowed 23 offensive rebounds to Nebraska, but they only turned it over five times.
The Gophers (12-1) are back in action at Purdue on Thursday.
