Six different Gophers scored in today’s afternoon finale of the Big Ten-Hockey East challenge, and Minnesota got retribution for a shootout “loss” Friday, beating Boston College 6-1.
Nate Condon, Seth Ambroz, Brady Skjei, Mike Reilly, Jake Bischoff, and Michael Brodzinski found the back of the net for Minnesota, and the No. 5 Golden Eagles leave the weekend having officially taken just the tie from Minnesota Friday, with the shootout not counting on either teams record.
Today’s matinee matchup was the final game of the inaugural Big Ten-Hockey East challenge, with Minnesota gaining three points for the first-year conference.
Hockey East came out ahead in the final standings however, led by two wins from Massachusetts this weekend, claiming an 18-11 points win.
The Gophers have a weekend off before returning to action Nov. 8 and 9, a non-conference showdown with No. 2 Notre Dame.
