Four goals in the first period set the tone and the Gopher women took game one of their WCHA first round playoff series with Minnesota State 10-0 at Ridder Arena Friday night.
The scoring for Minnesota didn’t stop after the first period. After adding one in the second, the Gophers lit the lamp five times in the third. Hannah Brandt and Dani Cameranesi did some damage for the Gophers.

The win gives the Gophers a 1-0 lead in this weekend’s best-of-three playoff series.
It was also the sixth straight victory for a Minnesota squad that appears to be peaking at the right time.
The same two teams will meet in game two of the series Saturday.
