The Gophers football team released its depth chart for this Saturday’s game against Maryland and quarterback Mitch Leidner is listed as out.
Redshirt junior Conor Rhoda will start in his place. Rhoda played football at Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul, and beat out Demry Croft in the preseason to take the backup job.
There were reports that Leidner suffered a concussion in Saturday’s loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes, but head coach Tracy Claeys initially denied those reports.
However on Tuesday, Claeys told the media that Leidner indeed has a concussion and is undergoing concussion protocol.

Leidner played poorly in the team’s loss to Iowa, completing just 13-33 passes and throwing 2 interceptions.
The Gophers also announced that starting left tackle Jonah Prisig is out for Saturday’s game, too.
