Gophers senior forward Rodney Williams says the crowd at Indiana last weekend was so loud that the rims and jumbotron were shaking. Williams is hoping the crowd at “The Barn” can replicate that when the Gophers host Michigan on Thursday.
Williams said the loudest he’s heard Williams Arena over his four years at the U of M was this season’s Big Ten opener against Michigan State.
It will be the first meeting between two top 10 teams at “The Barn” in 36 years.
Expect Minnesota’s starters to see plenty of action in the game. Instead of substituting four or five players at a time, head coach Tubby Smith has elected to play his starters more than ever. Three of five starters are averaging more than 30 minutes a game.
Julian Welch is the only reserve playing more than 10 minutes a game.
