The countdown to college hockey is on now that the 2013-14 Gophers men’s hockey television schedule is out.
In 19 days (as of Monday) the Gophers open the season with an exhibition game against Lethbridge at Mariucci Arena. Six days later they host the Ice Breaker tournament with Mercyhurst, New Hampshire and Clarkson in town.
31 of 36 Gopher games will be televised on either FOX Sports North, Big Ten Network or ESPN.
19 games will be carried on FOX Sports North or FOX Sports North Plus, nine games will be televised on Big Ten Network, and three contests will be picked up by the ESPN family.
The Star Tribune says Big Ten Network will host “Frozen Fridays” with pregame, intermission and postgame analysis.
