Gophers football coach Jerry Kill returned to Minneapolis Thursday after spending time at an epilepsy treatment center in Grand Rapids, Mich., the Star Tribune reports.
Kill will continue receiving treatment while he’s away from the team. There is no timetable for his return. Kill and the Gophers announced last week that the coach will remain away from the team in an effort to gain better control of his epilepsy.
Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys is the acting head coach while Kill is away. Claeys told KFAN-FM 100.3 on Thursday that Kill is doing well.
“They feel very good about the process right now,” Claeys said. “It’s just not going to be fast enough for [Kill].”
Minnesota plays an 11:00 a.m. CT game at Northwestern on Saturday.
