The Gophers’ Jordan Murphy has been named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team.
The accolade was announced on Thursday, with the Minnesota senior highly touted after leading the nation in double-doubles last year.
The San Antonio native, a 6’7″ forward, has earned conference awards in each of his three seasons in Minnesota, according to Gophers Sports.
He set a new Gophers record last year after posting 24 double-doubles and 361 rebounds, the highest among Big Ten players.
He also won three Big Ten Player of the Week awards, only the second time a Gopher has done that.
The selections for the Preseason All-Big Ten Team are based on media voting from across the conference.
Murphy’s inclusion in the preseason team comes after he was snubbed for the Street & Smith’s College Basketball Preview preseason All-American team and preseason All-Big Ten first team.
