Mailk Smith, a junior guard who played for Florida International University last season, has signed a tender to play basketball for the University of Minnesota — rejoining coach Richard Pitino.
Smith, who was FIU’s second-leading scorer last year — averaging 14.1 points per game — may be eligible to play immediately, according to WCCO.
Smith is Pitino’s third commitment — all guards — since he took over for Tubby Smith.
