Gopher fans were probably hoping Saturday’s game at Mariucci Arena was the only ice time they’d be seeing.
But No. 1 ranked Minnesota made it worth the snowy trek, competing flawlessly on both sides of the ice.
The Gophers scored five or more goals for the fifth time this year, as sophomore forward Ryan Bjugstad thrilled the crowd with his hat trick outing.
Not outdone, goalie Kent Patterson broke a Gopher record, netting his sixth shutout of the year.
The Gophers will carry this momentum into Thanksgiving and then travel to Michigan State for a series starting Friday.
