The Gophers men’s basketball team is now 0-13 in the Big Ten this season, after losing to No. 4 Iowa 75-71 Sunday night.
Minnesota kept things tight, getting to within 66-64 with 2:58 remaining after Joey King hit two free throws. The Hawkeyes (20-5, 11-2) fended off any potential comeback however, thanks in big part to Jarrod Uthoff. The forward blocked three Gophers shot attempts in the final 2 minutes of play, while scoring 4 points of his own during that stretch.
Nate Mason led Minnesota with 14 points. Peter Jok had 27 for Iowa.
The Gophers (6-19, 0-13) return home for a Thursday game against No. 2 University of Maryland (22-4, 10-3), 7 p.m. at Williams Arena.
