Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Gophers to a 34-10 victory over Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit on Wednesday.
Minnesota attempted just 13 passes in the game while sticking to the run and racking up a total of 260 yards on 43 carries.
Meanwhile, the Gophers were stingy on defense, limiting the Yellowjackets to 283 total yards, and just 77 passing yards. Most of Georgia Tech’s offensive production on the ground came in the second half.
Tanner Morgan started at quarterback for the Gophers, completing 7-of-13 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns, both of them to All-Big Ten wide receiver Tyler Johnson.
Johnson caught four passes for 52 yards to finish the season with 78 receptions for 1,169 yards and 12 touchdowns. Johnson now owns Minnesota’s single-season record for receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
