University of Minnesota athletics director Norwood Teague tells the Star Tribune that as of now, the Gophers are lined up to play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Phoenix, or the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Houston. However, with two games remaining a lot could change with where the bowl-eligible Gophers ultimately end up.
On Saturday the Gophers will be on the road against the 14th ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers. Minnesota has won two of three and Nebraska is riding a four game winning streak.
Minnesota’s injury issues on the offensive line are most evident at the center position. With Zac h Mottla and John Christenson out, the Olson brothers — Ed and Tommy — are now considered the backups behind Zac Epping.
Donnell Kirkwood will be running behind the makeshift line. He needs 181 yards to become the first 1,000 yard rusher for the Gophers since 2006.
