The victory keeps alive the Gophers’ hopes of winning the Big Ten West Division title. They need to beat the Badgers next Saturday in Madison to clinch the title.
The Gophers were down by 21-7 at halftime, but came out strong in the third quarter to begin closing the gap. Running back David Cobb scored a touchdown on a 17-yard run, to cut the lead to 7.
But he left the game after apparently injuring his left hamstring and didn’t play the rest of the way, the Star Tribune reports.
Quarterback Mitch Leidner rushed for the go-ahead touchdown with 3:25 left in the game. He passed for 135 yards, rushed for 110 yards and scored two TDs on the day.

The Gophers (8-3, 5-2 Big Ten) will play at Wisconsin next Saturday. A victory would make them the winners of the Big Ten West Division and send them to the Big Ten title game in Indianapolis.

The last time the #Gophers won at Nebraska AND Michigan…1960.
They also went to the Rose Bowl and won the Nat'l Champ that year.
