The Minnesota Gopher hockey team defeated Minnesota State University Friday night at Mariucci Arena 4-1. Friday night’s contest kicked off a six game home stand for the Gophers.
Adam Wilcox was strong for the Gophers in net on Friday. He stopped 34 shots in the Gopher victory. His efforts allowed the Gophers to get the victory despite being outshot 35-30.
Justin Kloos and Mike Reilly each scored a goal and an assist to lead the Gophers. Minnesota opened up a 3-0 lead midway through the second quarter. After Kloos and Mike Reilly put the Gophers up, Connor Reilly pushed the lead to three.
Zach Palmquist scored the Mavericks lone goal with Minnesota leading 3-0.
The same two teams play Saturday at Mariucci Arena at 7 p.m.
