The Golden Gophers are on their way to the N.I.T. Final Four after beating Middle Tennessee, 78-72 Wednesday night. Rodney Williams finished with 24 points — his fourth straight game with at least 20 points. Minnesota plays Washington at Madison Square Garden next Tuesday.
Andre Hollins continued to lead the Gophers’ backcourt. The true freshman scored 24 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Minnesota’s bench only provided one point — it came on a free throw from Chip Armelin.
Washington defeated Oregon, 90-86 on Tuesday night. In the other Final Four match-up, UMASS will play the winner of tonight’s game between Stanford and Nevada.
