The Minnesota Gopher women’s hockey team swept their first WCHA series of the season, as they defeated Wisconsin Saturday 2-0, at Ridder Arena.
Kelly Terry scored both goals for the Gopher women, whose winning streak now reaches 53 games. Both of Terry’s goals came in the third period, as the Gophers missed some opportunities to score early in the game.
The Pioneer Press says both teams struggled on the power play. Minnesota was 0 for 4, while the Badgers were 0 for 2.
Gopher Goalie Amanda Leveille made 27 saves for her first shutout victory of the season.
