The second-seeded Gopher volleyball team advanced to the Elite 8 at the NCAA Tournament with a 3-1 win over the Missouri Tigers at the Sports Pavilion on Friday night.
The Gophers took the first set with ease, winning 25-15. They fell in the second set but rebounded for wins in the third (25-19) and fourth set (25-14) to knock off the Tigers.

Senior Sarah Wilhite led the way with 16 kills for Minnesota.
They’ll play the winner of North Carolina and UCLA on Saturday night for a spot the Final Four. If the Gophers win, it will be their second straight appearance in the Final Four.
The U of M will also have home court advantage again at the Sports Pavilion. First serve on Saturday is set for 9 p.m.
