The Gopher men avenged their loss to Nebraska earlier this month with a strong outing Saturday, beating the Cornhuskers 60-42 Saturday at Williams Arena.
Mo Walker had 19 points and eight rebounds, and Andre Hollins added 12 points to lead Minnesota. The Gophers tough defense forced the Huskers to commit 20 turnovers, the Associated Press reports.
The Gophers (14-9, 3-7) bounced back after another close loss, this time to Penn State, just three days ago.
Nebraska (12-9, 4-5) was led by Shavon Shields with 11 points and Terran Petteway with 10.
The Gophers took the lead for good about halfway through the first half, and despite a late push by Nebraska, they couldn’t get any closer than seven points down the stretch.
The Gophers don’t play again for a week, when they will host Purdue next Saturday.
